It is important to include student assessment in art education as it is a way for students to develop growth and achieve certain level of exceptions from their own. Assessments is a way for students to look back on their projects and analysis their feedback information. It's also a way for to bring different viewpoints from others on their own artwork. Student's progress is measure through the assessments that provides critical judgements on their work that may allow them to improve on the next project.

There are two ways for student's to be measured. One is measured by quantitative assessment that is based on ranks or forms of counting. The other one is evaluation assessment which is focused on judgment of quality and included grading, measurements performed in the artwork. Both are ways to entries student's artistic development. Evaluating may be a difficult way to accurately judge student's accomplishment in artwork, if done right then students will be able to improve their skills/performance.
